The last month of the year is often a time for reflection and celebration of achievements. For me, 2024 was a year marked by uncertainty, new starts, and long-overdue clarity.
This year, Outreachy faced challenges, particularly around program funding. Yet, despite the uncertainty, the team demonstrated remarkable resilience and collaboration. It’s inspiring to see how well the team adapted and thrived under these circumstances.
In December, we intensified our social media efforts to promote the SFC fundraising campaign and brainstormed strategies to further improve the program. We also welcomed 26 new interns into the Outreachy community. Their energy and enthusiasm have been infectious! Our first chat on remote working practices was wonderful. The interns shared different perspectives and strategies for working remotely. Witnessing the excitement the interns bring every round makes me so proud of the work we do. I’m genuinely excited to witness their growth throughout the internship.
As we look ahead to 2025, the Outreachy team remains committed to reflecting on our achievements and working on new strategies to continue growing. While this year brought its share of uncertainty, it also clarified how we can elevate the program to new heights.
